Beginners Graduation at Colwick parkrun
September 17, 2017Back in July, we welcomed a new group of beginners to our Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night sessions. To mark the completion of the 8 week couch to 5k course, it has become standard that our beginners attend a ‘graduation’ parkrun.
Beginners from the Monday and Thursday night groups rocked up to Colwick Park on Saturday 16th September, where they were joined by some of our regular runners for the weekly 5k parkrun. The Tuesday Chilwell runners are planning a graduation run at Beeston parkrun on 30th September.
The weather at Colwick was more or less ideal, if a little bit chilly. All of our runners ran round the 5k route as if they’d done it a dozen times before and everyone had big smiles on their faces, especially at the finish. Our ‘graduands’ were all issued with certificates marking their achievement and we hope they will continue to run with us, continue to improve and hopefully bring some friends along.
