Tuesday

Our Tuesday meeting place is the rear car park of the Village Hotel in Chilwell at 7pm. You are welcome to use the hotel car park.

Toton Loop (winter)

Start by crossing over the main pedestrian lights to go left down Queens Road towards Long Eaton (on the right of the road). Follow road until the Manor pub, turn right down High Road (later Stapleford Lane), there are a few quiet residential roads to cross. Carry on straight over Swiney Way (passing Tesco on the right), this road must be crossed by the pedestrian lights as cars come round the bend very quickly! Carry on up the road using the service road to the right. Carry on up the hill until the entrance to the service road from Stapleford Lane (Katherine Road on right), turn round and retrace your steps to Swiney Way. Turn left and follow the road round staying on the left hand side of the road (Chilwell Barracks side) until you’re past the main barracks entrance then cross over by the pedestrian island. Follow the road round until the roundabout by the Cornmill pub, carry straight on past the entrance to the West Point retail park to the next roundabout, turn right then right again round Evans Halshaw garages onto the main road then back to the hotel.

Chilwell Loop (winter)

From the hotel, head out towards Nottingham Road and turn right. Nottingham Road becomes Bypass Road and then Queens Road. Continue on Queens Road and turn left on to Meadow Lane. At the end of Meadow Lane turn left on to High Road and continue on to Bypass Road. Continue back on to Nottingham Road, turning left at the retail park to get back to the hotel.

Sailing Club (summer)

Leave the hotel car park and turn left on to Barton Lane towards the nature reserve. Cross the railway line and look out for the small car park on the right. Turn in through the car park and pass through the narrow gate then follow the road round to the right and run along next to the railway. From here you basically follow the path and make a left turn whenever there is an option. You should eventually come past the car park for Attenborough Nature Centre and back on to Barton Lane, which will bring you back to the hotel.

Village Route (summer)

Turn left out of the hotel car park on to Barton Lane and run towards the nature reserve, turning left through the car park. Keep right at the fork and then take the left turn towards the village. When you reach the road (The Strand) turn right and continue until the end of the road and back on to the path. Make a right turn immediately after crossing the small bridge. Stay on the path and follow it round to the right so that you run round the lake. When you have completed the loop round the lake you should turn left to end up back on the path leading towards the Nature Centre car park. When you reach the car park turn right on to Barton Lane and head back towards the hotel.
