Sunday

We occasionally run on Sunday mornings. We meet at 10am and this is generally at the Embankment War Memorial. On occasions when there are events being held around the Embankment, we usually go to Beeston Marina.

Our route usually involves using the Big Track and you can choose your distance up to 10 miles.

It’s best to keep an eye on Facebook for any arrangements for Sunday runs.

War Memorial

Big Track

Starting at the War Memorial on Victoria Embankment, head west/up-river in the direction of Wilford Bridge. Carry on past Wilford Bridge, under Clifton Bridge and stay on the path towards Beeston Weir. At the recreation ground, turn away from the river and on to the canal. Follow the canal back towards town. Keep running beside the canal all the way back to town, past Virgin Active, rejoining the river opposite the City Ground and head back towards the War Memorial. This is the full 10 mile route, shorter options are available.

Beeston 10 mile

Occasionally in the summer there are events being held on the embankment which means that we have to meet elsewhere (so check the Group Runs page). This tends to mean that we head to Beeston Marina Cafe. The route typically goes round Attenborough Nature Reserve and towards Trent Lock. The above map is a suggestion of a 10 mile option but the decision is often made on the day.

It’s best to check for changes to the scheduled runs if you are planning to attend. The best places to check are:
